ORP AWARDS PRESENTED TO 33 FORT IRWIN EMPLOYEES

Thirty-three IAP Fort Irwin Project employees were recently designated by Cape Headquarters (CHQ) in Florida as recipients of awards under the company’s Outstanding Employee Recognition Program (ORP) for the 2nd Quarter, 2010. The list of the awardees is on Page 2. The recognitions, consisting of an eagle emblem, a framed certificate, a distinctive eagle pin, and a cash award, were presented during ceremonies within the various divisions during August. The awards were presented for a variety of efforts throughout the project (excerpts of nominations start on Page 7). All three major divisions and two Project Management staff sections were represented in the list of awardees, including the Training Support Division (19 awards), the Fort Irwin Fire Department (10 awards), the Public Works Division (2 awards), Contracts (Shelly Bressler, below right) and Safety (Doug Latimer, below left).Shelly Bressler

The Outstanding Employee Recognition Program was established three years ago by senior IAP managers to recognize outstanding employees with cash awards. Since the first awards were presented in June 2007, 308 awards have been made to Fort Irwin employees. Fifty-six employees have won the award twice, fifteen have been presented with three awards each, one employee, Wes Ulrich from IT, has received four awards, and one employee, Renate Knox from Finance, has received five. Photos of the most recent ORP Award recipients will be found in this issue of the Gallant Eagle and in issues over the next two months.Doug Latimer

Star Employee of the Month

On Friday, August 20th, Michael Vanhoy, Jr., an Engineering Technician in the Plans Section, Public Works, was presented with the Star Employee of the Month Award at a ceremony at Building 365. Consisting of a star trophy, a framed certificate, a distinctive star pin, $100 cash, and a selection of special IAP promotional material, the award was presented by General Manager Jeff Williamson. Cake and refreshments were served following the ceremony.

Mike was recognized for the outstanding effort he made when a challenge arose at the Post Hospital recently. He mitigated a very dangerous situation by responding in a timely and professional manner, providing utility marking services that benefitted both contractor and government personnel. The Star Employee of the Month Award is presented to one employee every month. All employees approved for a Fast $50 Award from the 11th of one month to the 10th of the following month are candidates for the award. Project Management makes the final selection of the winner.
