Heavy Lift in Iraq and Kuwait
When troops need critical supplies in Iraq and Kuwait, IAP
is on call day and night to maintain a seamless transportation
network in challenging circumstances. Since January 2003,
IAP has been providing heavy lift equipment and related
line haul services in Kuwait and Iraq.
As the prime contractor for the U.S. Army’s Heavy Lift
contract, IAP moves equipment, cargo and personnel between
geographically dispersed locations in Kuwait and Iraq. IAP
also hires and deploys trained and licensed operators for
leased vehicles and equipment to support military operations.
In late 2004, IAP’s efficient and well-run operation
played a major role in the largest rotation of U.S. soldiers
and equipment since World War II.
The contract, managed from IAP’s Kuwait City office,
operates around the clock to provide rapid mobilization and
deployment of personnel and equipment while ensuring high-quality
services that are cost-effective, on schedule and safe.
To maintain asset visibility in this extreme environment,
IAP developed an integrated satellite tracking system for
its trucks to enhance the safety and security of team members.
Building on the success of the system in Iraq and Kuwait,
IAP has deployed the satellite tracking system in disaster
relief missions worldwide.
As a result of IAP’s professionalism, dedication and
commitment on the Kuwait Heavy Lift V contract, the 50th
Area Support Group awarded IAP a Certificate of Appreciation
in August 2004.
