IAP To Continue Providing Support Services at Naval Air Station in Maryland
Cape Canaveral, Florida – IAP Worldwide Services, Inc. announced that it will continue to provide base operating support services at the Naval Air Station (NAS) in Patuxent, Maryland, under a new contract awarded by the U.S. Navy. A one-year base contract with four option years, the new contract is valued at approximately $63 million over the full five-year period. The new contract will commence on July 1, 2014.
IAP, which began work at the Naval Air Station in 1994, will perform preventive and operational maintenance on base facilities and equipment including repair of facilities/structures and utilities operations for various sites and activities in and around the Naval Air Station. The Company also will provide support for emergency repairs under a service order and minor work agreement, and indefinite quantity tasks for small construction and repair jobs.
“I am extremely proud of the IAP Pax River team and am equally excited to continue the great customer service for our long-term customers and partners here in the Pax River community,’ said Larry Autry, the longest serving Navy Programs Manager in IAP and the current Pax River Program Manager.
“This was a hard fought, long-drawn-out battle to finally win and keep Pax River as our anchor Navy Program within the Navy, Marine Corps, and Federal Business Segment,” said Rick Nohmer, Vice President of Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Federal Programs, and Contingency Operations. “After multiple protests, re-bids, and enormous efforts from our proposal and pricing shops, as well as Larry Autry and his great team at Pax River, we won! In this new competitive landscape, programs like Pax River are now more important than ever. Every time I speak with anyone associated with the Navy and Navy installations, they always know about IAP from Pax River, our great reputation and performance there, and it is our intent to keep it that way for a long time!”
Dave Jackson, IAP Vice President, Global Services, noted that the IAP team at its Patuxent River project had recently completed a successful ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System (EMS) reassessment audit performed by the National Quality Association (NQA). “The team had no major discrepancies, allowing the project to retain its EMS certification and also continue to offer our Navy customer improved environmental performance with increased efficiency and reduced costs,” said Dave.
